The true adoption story that the book “Officer…why don’t you adopt him?”  managed to catch the attention of many people and celebrities throughout the years, also several well known newspapers and magazines.

The heart-warming story even caught the attention of Chicago actress, Ann Jillian.

Jillian became so intrigued by the adoption success story, she handed the book over to Hollywood producer Joyce Selznick in 1981, who reached an agreement to develop the book into a feature film and/or television series.

Unfortunately, after the agreement was reached, the producer unexpectedly died, halting the production of the film/series. Nonetheless, “Officer…why don’t you adopt me?” continues to capture the public’s attention with its inspirational story.
